Coral Slopes

West Point Dive Site

West Point features a shallow reef flat only a few meters deep. Areas exposed to heavy waves remain mostly rocky with minimal coral growth. Below the reef rim, a stunning coral slope descends to a rocky flat at approximately 40 meters. Several ridges extend from the reef flat, including one lined with spectacular Red sea fans.

Depth: 2 – 30 meters

Highlights: Vibrant sea fans, coral slope, comb blennies, and endemic marine species

Conditions: Visibility typically reaches 18 meters. Longshore currents often reverse direction during a dive.

Otje Garden
Dive Site

Discovered by chance during a dive club trip, Otje Garden is a hidden gem featuring a breathtaking coral gardens. On its shallow reef flat, sharp branching corals dominate, while mature coral formations thrive all the way down to 35 meters. This site includes small flats, sandy coves, and patches of coral rubble. This site is ideal for a relaxed third dive.

Depth: 1 – 20 meters

Highlights: Stunning coral formations, endemic species, sea turtles, and schooling fish

Conditions: Visibility depends on wave action and longshore currents. Miguel’s Diving staff selects this site only when visibility is at least 15 meters.
